Working closely with key partners to bring Clerys Quarter – the regeneration of one of Dublin’s most recognisable buildings – to life for its 2020 opening. An exciting redevelopment is now underway to transform Clerys into a vibrant mixed–use development. Rowdy was appointed as the lead agency to develop the strategy, brand and communications for the new destination and its sub–brands – retail, office, food & beverage and hospitality.

Bringing back an icon

Clerys department store has long been iconic in Dublin, with people meeting under its clock for generations. But, since its controversial closure in 2015, its doors have remained closed. The renamed Clerys Quarter will help move Clerys away from being just a retail space to a key city centre destination. Each aspect of the Quarter now has a striking identity that works independently and as part of the overarching brand. Our targeted four–phase communications strategy aims to drive positive reactions and uptake from potential visitors to, and occupiers of, the space.

Clerys Quarter is an exciting development for the city centre – highlighting positive change and regeneration in the area. The bold visual language we have displayed across the hoardings stands out from its surroundings, setting the tone for a bright new future for Clerys and O’Connell Street.

Introducing a new destination

A new city centre at the heart of Dublin, where culture and community come together. The new quarter will be home to The Earl Building, The Clerys Building, Earl Place Market, a new boutique hotel and rooftop bar and restaurant. We have implemented each brand across print and digital applications. For the website we developed a single Clerys Quarter landing page that spilts into the different sub–sites for each offer enabling the agents to to promote the overall development and directly target potential tenants for each offer.
